The Pergolesi is an unusual open-air style mausoleum with only one wall. The overhanging roof, supported by Ionic columns, features a rounded pediment with a series of inset carvings. The rear wall also features a unique carving, as well as creative use of negative space to define decorative blocks. The entire structure is constructed with large slabs of Barre granite, and weighs in at 230,000 pounds – an impressive size considering the open-air nature of this mausoleum, and the fact that it only houses two crypts.
